ABOUT ME

Hello.

My name's David Wooster and I'm a scientist, teacher, writer, and travel photographer.  I started this blog in part because I believe Buddhist philosophy is capable of making the world a better place for all of us to live in, if only more people knew about it.   One of the special things I've personally discovered about Buddhism is that its lessons can lie side-by-side with those of the other great religions, enriching rather than displacing them.

Some books about science that I wrote are here on Amazon.com  or Lulu

To Sample: "Secret Life of the Brewer's Yeast" on Amazon, please click on the cover below and "look inside"

NEW . . . photos from my Kickstarter project that was not funded.   I self-published them on Blurb.  A PDF book is also available there.

My Ph.D. Dissertation was put online by Montana State University here: "Overexpression and Characterization of the Cystic Fibrosis Protein CFTR Using AFM and MALDI-TOF-MS."

Some of my medical research publications are here:

Fcy receptor 1 alpha chain (CD64) expression is critical in macrophages for the onset of meningitis

Log phase E. coli K1 efficiently avoids serum killing

Evidence for direct interaction between actin and the cystic fibrosis protein

I'm currently working on a novel based on my experiences in medical research, teaching biochemistry, and doing travel photography in Asia.   Available now on this site.
